Hello and welcome! My name is Maia and I value helping clients on their journey towards healing and personal growth. As a therapist specializing in anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, relationship issues, and life transitions, know that you're not alone in what you're experiencing. Life can be both beautiful and challenging, and it's completely normal to face moments when the weight of these emotions feels overwhelming. I'm here to create a safe and non-judgmental space where we can work together to navigate these complex aspects of your life. Whether you're struggling with the grip of anxiety, carrying the weight of past traumas, wrestling with your self-esteem, encountering difficulties in your relationships, or feeling uncertain about the transitions life presents, know that you have taken a courageous step by seeking support. My approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and a deep respect for your unique journey. Together, we'll explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way that promotes self-discovery and healing. I believe in the power of understanding and insight to drive positive change, and I'm committed to tailoring our sessions to meet your specific needs and goals. Therapy is not about fixing you. It's about helping you discover the strength and resilience that already exists within you. We can work towards creating a life that aligns with your values, fosters healthy relationships, and empowers you to face challenges with newfound confidence. I’d be honored to accompany you on this path of self-exploration and transformation. Our collaboration will be centered around your comfort, growth, and well-being. Thank you for entrusting me with your journey – let's begin this transformative process together.

I’m a firm believer that healing happens in relationship. And yet, for those of us who have experienced trauma and mental health concerns, relationships that aid our healing can be few and far between. Therapy is, for many of us, where we learn to heal. When we form a healthy bond with a therapist, we grow to trust them, and slowly, ourselves and others. When we can trust ourselves and others, we can learn to live again - to come out of survival mode and into the unique beauty of our individual selves, lives and experiences. Facilitating this growth in others is what I consider to be my work, and it is my honor to do it. I specialize in helping people recover from child abuse, emotional neglect, sexual assault, and other traumas. I am skilled in working with adults and teenagers, and in issues of family and relationship conflict. I have a passion for working with people with ADHD and navigating themes of identity, executive functioning, building social support, etc. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. If you feel we might work well together, do not hesitate to call or text me at the listed phone number. Whatever you're facing, it'll be easier with company. I cannot wait to hear from you!

I specialize in relationships! The ones between myself and my clients, and those between my clients and people they seek to know more deeply (and sometimes less deeply). Anxiety reduction, depression suppression, meet your connection, find your direction.

All it takes is a little bit of adulting to realize that right about when we think we have it all together, life throws us a curveball. These instances can leave us feeling stuck – stuck in unhealthy patterns and behaviors, in feelings of anxiety or depression, and even in relational conflicts that seem impossible. For some, it’s balancing the demands of parenthood or a job situation that feels like it’s heading toward burnout. For others, it might be relationships that seem to lack boundaries and healthy expectations. However, here’s a glimmer of hope…you have the ability to move beyond “just surviving” and toward a place where you can truly thrive. I received my bachelor’s degree in English with my teaching credential from California State University, Northridge. After ten years as a high school teacher (and my own internal struggles with what my life was “supposed” to look like), I pivoted and earned a master’s degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy from University of Phoenix. I am currently a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#137574). When I am not practicing therapy, you can find me attempting to practice yoga (keyword: attempting), trying to get my kids to eat something other than chicken nuggets, or re-watching episodes of The Sopranos. Life is challenging. You don’t have to be on this journey alone.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist who uses depth-oriented/psychodynamic, relational psychotherapy to help alleviate clients' suffering. Together we will understand the depth of your pain and explore what keeps you stuck. I view clients as doing the best they can to survive, with some of these forms of survival no longer being helpful as they may have been in the past. In fact some of these survival skills can often become detrimental for us in reaching our goals. Together we will make space for the parts of you that may have had to be locked away, for the suffering you have been experiencing, and for the ways you have learned to get by. Facing our struggles and our past can be daunting, but I have found through years of experience that doing so allows for greater freedom, groundedness, and authenticity.

I specialize in clients struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD and relationship issues. As issues with motivation, attention, & sleep commonly go hand-in-hand with primary diagnoses, I became a certified sleep therapist & earned a fully accredited certification in ADHD Management. I offer therapy & assessment for ADHD, pre-adoption, and cognitive issues. I proudly offer same-day consultations & timely apts for both therapy & assessment in under 1 week. I empower my clients to take the next personalized and informed steps towards effective, lasting change. As you learn coping skills in a warm, relational setting, we'll alleviate your symptoms by identifying and challenging your maladaptive thought, emotional, or behavioral patterns that no longer serve you. Together, we'll work to identify your strengths and apply these towards achieving your unique therapy goals. My goal is to enable you to achieve a meaningful life of purpose, connection with others, and fulfillment with yourself.
I enjoy working with people struggling with anxiety, trauma, depression, stress, burnout, and grief. I know from my own experience how important flexibility is in order to get the help you need. Therefore I provide evening appointments, with availability ranging from 4 pm to 10 pm, ensuring convenience for clients. My clients often describe me as warm, accepting, safe, emotionally supportive, and validating. My approach equips you with practical life skills. My curiosity drives me to understand the factors contributing to your current distress and how your past experiences may influence your present struggles. Together, we'll delve into your emotional patterns and personal history to foster self-understanding. This process will enable you to acquire the necessary tools and skills for self-compassion and develop more helpful perspectives of yourself/others.

Two Chairs Therapy

(415) 202-5159

Research shows that a strong client-therapist relationship is the key to great therapy, so we’ve invested in perfecting the match. At Two Chairs, 98% of clients are happy with their first match! That's because unlike other providers, Two Chairs takes time, human to human, to get to know exactly what clients need. Clients spend 45 minutes with a licensed expert trained extensively in matching people to the right therapist. They ensure nuanced needs and preferences are understood, and that goals align with our therapists' specialties. With over 170 therapists, nearly half of whom are BIPOC identifying, a quarter speaking another language, and delivering care in over 90 different specialties and 35 modalities, we are certain we can get clients the help they deserve. In addition to making sure we match clients with the right therapist, we check in regularly to help them reflect on different aspects of their mental health. Fluctuation is expected and normal, but we are committed to helping every client feel better faster. How do we know it's working? We measure! 80% of clients report symptom reduction in anxiety or depression in just 12 sessions! We offer support across our beautiful clinics in California and Washington, as well as through teletherapy.
