The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (DMH) San Antonio Family Center (SAFC) was transformed from a directly operated Adult clinic to a Children’s clinic in 1985, and was housed in a free standing building in Bell Gardens for 20 years. Since then, the SAFC has provided services to children and adolescents birth to transitional age youth who are experiencing severe emotional disturbances.

The mission of the Violence Intervention Program is to protect and treat all victims of family violence and sexual assault, and for 30 years, has been executing and expanding that vision. Our support programs are the heart of what we do. VIP has continued to innovate in creating programs and systems that simplify the path to recovery for people experiencing abuse or neglect. Our work aims to cover the spectrum from Child Abuse, to Adult, Elderly and LGBTQ needs across Los Angeles County, and our offerings continue to expand each year to serve more people. Didi Hirsch Jump Street

Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services has provided free mental health, substance use disorder and suicide prevention services since 1942. Dedicated to serving communities where stigma or poverty limits access, Didi Hirsch helps more than 150,000 children and adults from 11 locations and 100 schools throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties each year. Jump Street in Los Angeles provides crisis stabilization and support for individuals who have persistent or acute mental illness, which can also include co-occurring disorders. Our crisis services are provided in a structured, intensive program for up to 28 days. Clients can come from outpatient intensive programs to avoid hospitalization or directly from hospitals to continue their crisis stabilization. With capacity for 10 clients, Jump Street creates a welcoming, home-like environment where clients can regain the dignity and sense of responsibility that are critical to hope and wellness. Staff works with residents to foster self-care, improve coping skills, stabilize psychiatric medication, and link them to community services prior to discharge.

Counseling 4 Kids

Counseling4Kids delivers healing and advocacy to at-risk children and families to improve the quality of life for all. Counseling4Kids is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides effective mental health services to abused and neglected children and youth in Los Angeles County. We specialize in the treatment of children in foster care. Our therapists travel to the home and schools of the children in our programs to provide therapy. Providing services to the child at home creates better outcomes with less missed appointments, the ability to identify stressors in the home, and the opportunity to follow a child through multiple home placements. We use a combination of licensed and unlicensed therapists who are trained in the unique needs of at-risk youth.

The Los Angeles LGBT Center offers individual, couples, family, and group therapy, as well as psychiatric care. We operate one of the few programs to assist LGBT people involved in domestic and intimate partner abuse and violence. Our programs to combat substance abuse include a renowned outpatient program for those who want to stop or reduce substance use.

Maple Counseling is a nonprofit community mental health center that provides treatment services to anyone regardless of their ability to pay. We offer programs throughout Los Angeles County and beyond to clients of all ages - from infants through the advanced elderly. Airport Marina Counseling Service (AMCS) provides accessible community based mental health services and provides quality training to therapists. AMCS is a nonprofit, community-based mental health clinic that has been serving the greater LAX region since 1962. From its opening in 1962 to now, AMCS has continued to grow and expand it programs and services. Today, we serve hundreds of individuals, children and families and couples weekly, and our services are provided on a sliding-scale basis. As affordable mental health resources become more difficult to find, more people living further away from AMCS depend upon its services. Though we have no geographical boundaries, the Clinic currently serves the greater LAX area including Westchester, El Segundo, Culver City, Hawthorne, Inglewood, Marina del Rey, Playa del Rey and Venice, Santa Monica, Torrance, South Los Angeles and extended areas of Los Angeles County. The People Concern
